The Complete Truth About Sinking Cities

sinking cities, montauk, long island, miami, east end, new york, miami of the north, changing climate, climate change, indonesia, PNAS, seawater, sea levels, peer reviewed, Mr. Fisher, carl fisher, InSAR, satellites, southeast asia, subsidence, groundwater, recharge, solutions, going true green, sustainable livingWhat is the real cause for some sinking cities?
Allow me to start by sharing a lesson from the 1920s and 1930s that developed on the end of eastern Long Island, in a town call Montauk, New York. This town is named after Montauk Sachem, who was the tribe leader around 1665 that ruled from the eastern end to the western end of Long Island for decades. However, to share this lesson we must first head south to Miami during the 1920s. Miami had become the popular spot to stay in the winter months for prosperous people living in the northern states. Yet, when the hot summer months came in Miami, they abandon Miami to head back north for cooler temperatures.

From this, Carl Fisher who developed Miami Beach in the 1920s, wanted to make Montauk the "Miami of the North" for the summer months. Therefore, all those that can afford the travel, would be able enjoy beach weather all year long without the extreme heat. Miami beaches would be enjoyed in the winter months and Montauk beaches in the summertime. Plans were drawn up to construct hotels, restaurants and clubs to accommodate the potential crowds visiting Montauk in the summer.

For Mr. Fisher, alas, his dream did not come true for one main reason. This reason is the lesson never learned and now a major contributing factor as to why so many cities are sinking, and sinking fast...

Major coastal cities around the world today are sinking and facing flooding caused by the all encompassing battle cry prediction under climate change. Cities such as Miami are losing land to the rising water levels, but is that the complete truth?

The journal Geophysical Research Letters published a study of 99 cities with the end result showing some of the major cities around the world are sinking more than the rising sea around them. How can that be? This is by far a threat more urgent than previously predicted under climate change. Yet, climate change (I prefer, a changing climate) does not have anything to do with this phenomenon. This is what the study reported:

Over 33 cities are sinking more than one centimeter per year. At that rate we find based on data from the PNAS, (National Academy of Sciences) a peer reviewed journal that offered recent estimates of global sea-level rise, we have a sinking rate that is five times faster than the rising seawater levels.

The fastest sinking cities are located in Southeast Asia. Indonesia's capital has a city with 10.5 million people. This city, Jakarta, is sinking fast. So while these cities are not sinking fast because of climate change, they are sinking fast because of other humankind actions.

From InSAR (Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar), a technique for mapping ground deformation using radar images of the Earth's surface, we have collected data from orbiting satellites that show the following:

coastal cities, sinking cities, montauk, long island, miami, east end, new york, miami of the north, changing climate, climate change, indonesia, PNAS, seawater, sea levels, peer reviewed, Mr. Fisher, carl fisher, InSAR, satellites, southeast asia, subsidence, groundwater, recharge, solutions, going true green, sustainable living

Montauk never became the "Miami of the North" because there wasn't enough clean drinkable water under the narrow land strip of eastern Long Island. Pumping water up from the ground would allow salty seawater to encroach and within a few years, there would be no clean domestic water left to use in all the hotels, restaurants and clubs. If this lesson was remembered and expanded upon, humankind would not have pumped up water from below our cities and our cities would not be sinking faster than the rising sea. The humankind issue with the fastest sinking cities isn't called climate change, the name is subsidence.

Subsidence is when land settles or is compacted due to a drastic change well underground. Subsidence is the cause for many of our cities sinking at a faster rate. All of humankind's actions to pump groundwater up and out, causes buildings to sink more and more. If the "Miami of the North" became a reality like Miami in Florida, we would now be comparing the problems of a sinking Miami to a sinking Montauk.

We must now rethink our developments and paving over our land with blacktop and cement. All of this prevents rain from recharging the water tables below. A process that takes centuries when not disrupted. Additional, alternatives must be found so massive extraction of groundwater is reduced or stopped. One advantage New York City has is that their drinking water reservoirs are upstate and not a contributing factor to reducing the water tables below the city. Around the start of this century, the Indonesian government has been regulating the extraction of groundwater. The city of Jakarta was sinking on average 20 centimeters a year for the past three decades. Recently, after new citywide actions, the city only sank 3 centimeters in the past seven years.

So because the media is only pushing a narrative that makes advertisement dollars, they fail to present the complete truth to the public. After all, the media deems facts and truth boring. End result, a delay in knowing the complete story and bringing forth real solutions.

Inflation + Recession = Food Gardens

Recession, Inflation, Food Gardens, garden, food shopping, sustainability, going green, going true green, Biden's Recession, Victory Gardens, saving money, saving healthOffset Recession and Inflation with a Garden
I have been blogging for years that we all should grow whatever food we can, wherever we can. From empty lots to roof tops and from backyards to window sills. Below are a few Links to those blogs, peruse their content when you want to learn more:

Victory Gardens / Mowing Down The Lawn / Green Earth / Benefits To Growing Food / Watermelon With Seeds

Because the United States now has high Inflation along with a Recession added into the equation, the media is talking about the need for people to start thinking about growing some of their own food! After all, many Food Markets are low in stock and skimpy in available choices.

Don't get me wrong, having a food garden of any size is work and having one to provide for yearly food needs is not possible for most of us. I put a great deal of time into my garden and that takes precision scheduling on my part. I have a well diversified work, business and volunteer schedule. I am not a farmer, yet this year I am enjoying the bounty of fresh grown produce such as:

So please don't hesitate giving a GO or Hand at growing a food garden. Especially now that prices are through the sky with our economy holding high inflation and saddled with a recession. Also do not overlook composting! Use my 'SEARCH' box at the very top of each page to find info and blogs on composting.

Hallmark's "Christmas In July"

7/16/2022

Hallmark is running Christmas movies in July because many people enjoy a Christmas movie in the middle of the summer. So I decided to do a GoingTrueGreen Christmas blog in July. After all, having a head start on this information will prove useful for many. Especially compared to me posting this blog sometime in December and perhaps a day late for many who already made a decision that can hurt or help our environment.

I have been asked many times by many people, "What kind of Christmas tree should I buy?"
My answer is always the same, "I prefer a Douglas Fir, however a Fraser Fir is just as nice."
Their reply is always, "Oh no, I mean between a fake tree or a real tree. Which is best for the environment?"

Well, the answer is always a real tree will be better for the environment. Here are the reasons and facts as to why:
Christmas, Hallmark, Christmas in July, Christmas trees, fake Christmas trees, sustainability, goingtruegreen, going green, chirstmas tree association, Hallmark movies, NASA, recycling, composting, carbon emissions, trees, hot chocolate, candy canes, saint Nick, forests, douglas fir, fraser firA Christmas Tree Farm
NASA has published findings that state we can take positive action for our environment by restoring our forests. Some other reported data shows that if all the Christmas tree farms in the United States of America are managed properly that would cut into carbon emissions up to 30 percent. I am not sure if that percentage is across the total amount of emissions nation wide or toward a specific discharge of carbon emissions. My research source did not elaborate, so I point this out because we must always be wary of any process of omission to create a narrative. Nevertheless, the truth will always triumph over one sided narratives.

Additionally, real trees purchased from a local Christmas Tree farm or a Garden Center such as the Powers' Country Gardens, does not produce the extreme carbon emissions that occur in the manufacturing of a plastic Christmas Tree and shipping 85% of said product from China seven thousands miles away. This is not counting the miles shipped across our country to stores.

I have read stats showing that we have here in the United States thousands of tree farms, many are growing Christmas trees. Up to 35 million real Christmas trees are sold each year as farmers plant up to 3 seedlings for every Christmas tree harvested according to the National Christmas Tree Association. I believe between the United States and Canada, approximately 350 million Christmas trees are growing every year.

Now the cost for buying a real Christmas tree every year can average out to $75.00. Well, actually the cost will be more and that is because at least half a day should be devoted to buying a Christmas Tree with family and friends. That means car pooling, getting a bite to eat together and don't forget the hot chocolate or candy canes! Perhaps a snowball volley will be possible due to the weather. How about a visit to see one of Saint Nicholas' helper or even Saint Nick himself for the kids! Also some ice skating or attending church services
can all be done before visiting the local Garden Center or a Christmas Tree farm where you actually get to pick and cut down your own Christmas Tree! Sharing Christmas cheer with the farm workers and the family operating the farm or garden center is far better than pulling a plastic tree out of the attic or basement that lacks the fresh pine scent from a real tree. The reality of all this is that any day like the above with family and friends is priceless.

We must also include in our decision the facts that real trees are renewable, biodegradable, compostable, and recyclable into useful wood. At last count, there are over 4,000 Christmas tree recycling programs nation wide.

Comparing real trees to the annual 10 million artificial trees sold each year that have non-biodegradable plastic, possible other toxins such as lead, and cannot be recycled after an average 7 year life span, real trees are far more sustainable and better for the environment.

After all, what would you enjoy more? Spending a day like the one described above making real memories or being inside a store to buy a fake tree invented by the toilet bowl brush company called Addis Brushes. Yes, a fake tree isn't anything more than a giant green plastic upside down toilet bowl brush! Besides, who has memories of the time buying a fake tree?

Nice Batwing Batman!

Well, not exactly. The image shown has a graphic that is like a Batwing chart represents the pattern of light being given off by a light producing fixture. However, this image on the right is my energy production for the day from my solar panels. Nice smooth increase from early morning and a steady decline as the sun sets behind trees, other houses and the horizon.

So far this summer, I have no electric bill due to the excess kWs I have in the bank. Not only covering my electric cost, but taxes and fees included. Additionally, still producing excess power beyond what I used for the day and placed those kWs in the bank for the winter months and next year.

If you are interested in going with solar, become a GTG member and email us all your concerns and questions. We will be happy to provide additional basic info. Also for specific steps to reduce your own electric consumption without sacrifice is another benefit to being a GTG member.

Even if you already have a solar system and want to save more, membership can offer you additional access to specific energy saving actions to save big. Let us help make your current solar system shine brighter for you!

Many Contractors Do What They Want, Not What You Need

contractors, insulation, energy, heating, energy consulting, sustainability, going green, environmental science, AOC, political leaders, joists, certified, vapor barrier, energy efficiency, how to install insulation, attic, doomed, fiberglass, energy bills, energy, heating, peaceAnother Contractor's Job Done Wrong
With warmer weather, we tend to do more work outside around our home. Maintaining and fixing up around the house is an endless mission. Obviously, when financially feasible, one may hire a contractor to do some work or repairs. After all, some things we can't do because we know our limitations and perhaps we just want more time to do some other things, like visiting with family and friends or dare I say, just to have some time at peace praying?

Now when repairs or improvements are done in tandem with energy bills, we really don't want mistakes. However, hiring a contractor does NOT guarantee that mistakes will not happen. I can say with almost every improvement I made on my house when using an outside contractor, I found errors that would cost me more money on my energy bills.

Errors and lies were made almost all the time. Half truths were told to me just to sell me something I did not need. If the contractor took some time to realize what I was about as an Environmental Scientist and Energy Consultant, they wouldn't have been so
surprised, when I questioned them about their half truths, flat out lies and errors! I must confess, seeing their mouths drop open when I hit them with facts that proved them wrong, was rewarding. Especially when they made the changes to do the job correctly.

The photo shows an old house being repaired. The outside wall was damaged and the old inefficient "bat" insulation was pulled out and replaced with new fiberglass insulation. This would be fine, but the new insulation was installed backwards and stuffed in between the wooden joists, thus compromising the integrity of the insulation. In the photo you can see the brown paper vapor barrier facing outward. This is completely wrong. The vapor barrier ALWAYS faces in toward the warmer side. Also the insulation was made for placement between joists 16 inches apart on center. These joists are 12 inches apart on center. So stuffing the insulation in with the vapor barrier facing the wrong way will cause mold and mildew build up, heat lost and condensation build up inside the wall.

These facts are the basics for insulation jobs and yet these contractors had no idea what they were doing. What makes this worse are our so called political leaders yelling for more weather stripping around doors and windows to save our Earth. Well, here is a News Flash - We have been doing those actions since the late 1970s!

How about testing contractors to be licensed? Make the tests easy by breaking the exams down for each trade or topic. For example, doing insulation jobs, then test for just that work. No need to know how to install a multi-set back thermostat or replacement windows. We test accountants, doctors, but if the world is doomed why are contractors unlicensed and free to do anything... especially when their labor produces energy inefficiency?!

I had to take classes to be certified and everyone who works on my team is certified or licensed in their field. They are experts. Therefore, all contractors need to be tested on their craft, not just the managers. I say this because after catching employees installing the wrong insulation in my attic, they called their manager and over the phone that manager tried to sell me the mistake his employees made. I knew the facts, but the average American does not! The manager that spoke to me didn't stand a chance and had no choice but to order the costly change so the job was done correctly. My house ended up being done correctly because I knew the facts as an energy consultant, but my house is only one of the many dwellings in our country. Sadly, the majority of Americans are unaware of these details and as such, across our nation, this creates an abundance of wasted energy due to uneducated, careless or corrupt contractors.

Most political leaders would do us all a world of good by stopping to pretend they are experts in everything. Most of the time they do not know what they are talking about, especially when it comes to energy and our environment.

Addictions from Cigs to Cells

When I was young, the cool looking thing to do was posing with a cigarette in your hand. People were addicted to that look and to the tobacco stimulant called nicotine.

Fortunately, I had a strong role model, I had a father. He smoked when young and in the Navy, but quit when the facts became available on all the damage cigarettes did to your health. Nevertheless, he knew I saw many people still smoking around me and I would need to make my own decision. My dad told me never to accept a "smoke" from someone else and when I wanted to try a cigarette, just to let him know and he would get me one to try. I was ten when I said to my father that I wanted to try one. As promised, he acquired a cigarette from my grandfather who still smoked.

Addictions, cigarettes, nicotine, tobacco, smoking, cell phones, cells, DNA, Memorial Day, EMF, EMFs, 5G, environment, health, sustainability, sustainable living, going green, toilets, Electromagnetic Radiation, parotid gland, kids, Vets, grandfatherMy Dad Looking Cool Smoking
My dad and I went to our apartment's front gate for the first floor that was under the stoop. There we had some open airflow through the gate and yet, some privacy. He lit the cigarette and told me how to take a puff or drag. I don't remember which, but I do remember that I started coughing immediately. I appreciated the privacy in that basement gate entrance and asked my father why I was coughing. After all, I didn't see my grandfather coughing when smoking. Yes, he did cough a great deal, but not when smoking. My father communicated very wisely to me by saying. "William, your body is trying to tell you something. This was the first time you are smoking and your body is saying with each cough, that this isn't good, don't do this. However, if you keep smoking, eventually your body will give up trying to warn you and you will stop coughing." My dad also said, "Smoking or putting anything else into your body (at the time I didn't realize my dad was referring to drugs) will become a crutch. Do you want to walk through life with a crutch or do you want to walk and run with your own two feet?"

Needless to say, I never smoked anything in my life. Sadly, the smoking addiction caused my grandfather to pass away from emphysema. My dad, since he quit smoking before I was born and his body had the time to heal, he is still with me today. A World War Two Vet still trying to make sense of this world on another Memorial Day.

Today, we still need to make sense of many things. One is the fact that there are almost 7 billion subscribers to cell phones and only an estimated 4 billion people have a working toilet available for their use! We have gone from one addiction known as holding a cigarette in our hands to a new addiction where we hold a cell phone in our hands.

Both addictions cause health problems. Now with cell phones, we must evaluate the data on EMFs aka Electromagnetic Radiation, and how that can be a problem. I am not going to cite all the studies or harms caused or not caused by EMFs, but when there is information that DNA repair can be disrupted from EMF exposure, I know we must communicate better. In addition to all that, since the addiction to cell phones, we have also seen our youth develop problems tenfold with socializing face to face, critical thinking, focusing on one element until completed, listening skills and having an ability to communicate respectfully. None of which is caused by EMFs, but by the addiction to using cell phones multiple hours per day.

Perhaps we all should try to do the following:

- Keep track of your daily use in hours.
- Keep the cell phone out of your pockets, put them in a car holster or pocket book.
- Use the speaker all the time.
- Do not hold the phone to your ear.

(Research shows a fourfold increase in cancer of the parotid gland located by your cheek from 1970 to 2006)
- If you are unable to use the speaker because other people are around, then text the following answer...
"I will call you back later"
- DO NOT let children play or entertain themselves with your cell phone. Be involved with your kids, like my father was, all those years ago with cigarette smoking.
- Turn Off the cell phone more often so no EMFs are transmitted.
- Don't keep the cell phone by your head when sleeping.
- Make sure you have good reception so your cell phone is transmitting at a lower power level and with less EMFs.

One major thing we could do to help us put this in perspective is to ask ourselves a question. How long do we talk to other people face to face and how much time do we spend praying to God compared to how much time we spend talking or texting on our cell phone?

Trusting we all can have a blessed Memorial Day with all the facts.

Electric Bill Free

5/17/2022

Elon Musk, PSEG, Tesla, Solar, solar panels, GoingTrueGreen, saving energy, sustainable living, efficient houses, going green
For the next three or four months I will have no electric bill at all. I just received a credit at the end of April for the extra electricity I produced with my Tesla Photovoltaic Solar Panels during my year's billing cycle. Just like the past 7 years since I had my Tesla solar system installed I have made more electricity than I consume.

Prior to this winter, I had almost 2,000 Kilowatt hours in excess and with our winter sun low in the sky I have been using that supply to make up the difference on my electric bills. By the time winter ended, I had about 840 Kilowatt hours still left over. At the end of my billing year, I am issued a credit for the remaining kW I did not use. So the ten to fourteen dollars that I pay each month on my utility bill for taxes and fees will now be wiped out by my 840 kW credit over the next few months.

I also had a fast Three year and Eight month Return on my investment and that was possible by making an energy efficient house. The actions I have taken to live a more sustainable life and have a very energy efficient house took about 12 years prior to the implementation of the solar system. Nevertheless, these energy efficient actions taken are NOT rocket science. Throughout my GTG blog posts you can read about these actions.

The second reason for the fast payback is due to my research and evaluation of many Solar companies. (Several of the companies that I did not go with are now out of business or their suppliers have bowed out.) Product performance was also key: knowing where the products were manufactured, who installed what components and comparing the costs between Lease programs or buying.

Sustainable Shoes Kids Can't Outgrow!

Kids wear out and outgrow shoes all the time. This reality applies pressure on raw materials, waste management, our budgets, and medical support for kids that contract parasites or other diseases when walking barefoot to school or work.  The world has multitudes of children that don't have shoes to wear because of availability and cost.

Enter Mr. Kenton Lee, who is an entrepreneur with the invention of a shoe that grows! When working at an orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya, Lee came up with the idea of a leather sandal that could expand five sizes. Thus allowing the shoes to last years for a kid and save money, materials, and waste.

However, having a brilliant and more sustainable idea is not enough. I know first hand with my own trademarks and patented invention, that this is always the case. Lee even tried to give the idea away for free to a shoe company, but there seems to be an inherited inhibitor in all corporations that believe they must put profits ahead of people.

Notwithstanding, Lee started his own nonprofit company, "Because International" to get his prototype shoe out there. Today the Shoe That Grows is in 100 countries and is getting worldwide admiration. Lee was quoted explaining how the shoe works, “Basically, the kids can adjust the shoe on the top with Velcro straps and an adjustable toe piece. Then, the bottom of the shoe unfolds as the foot naturally grows.”

It is a beautifully crafted narrative of the events surrounding the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the effects of this miracle upon His followers and foes alike. Meticulously researched, this story brings together the Gospel accounts in the Bible and apocryphal works, weaving a compelling tale of the origins of what blossomed into Christianity as we know it today. GoingTrueGreen Helps CORA's Emergency Preparedness Project in Haiti

3/23/2022

Bill Lauto, Going True Green, Marie Fouche, CORA, Haiti, Haiti CORA project, Mr. Labissiere, Salesians Sisters, Anse-a-Veau Bay, Emergency preparedness, earthquakes, hurricanes, gravitylight, kerosine, curriculum, survival, team building, communication skills, Homeland security, shelter, water still, Father Louis Merosne, Port-Au-PrinceAnse-a-Veau Bay
I have used the following line many times to inspire students and adults at domestic and international events where I teach or lecture…

If not now, then when? If not you, then who?

When I was informed about a Haiti project Marie Fouche was working on as an administrative volunteer for CORA, I changed the “you” in the above line to “I” and volunteered my services.

After a few weeks of presenting my credentials, conversations, and discussions for the project, I was honored to be welcomed. The time table and finances for us all are tight and several deadlines have to be met by me and the organizing team here in New York. Nevertheless, please allow me to summarize the project’s mission and needs:

THE WHO:
CORA is a Coalition pour le relevement de l’Anse-a-Veau. The translation “a coalition for the raising of Anse-a-Veau” is from French, one of the three languages spoken. This not-for-profit [501(c)3] organization was created to rally and motivate individuals that are born in Haiti and have a desire to make a difference. Currently the president of CORA is Mr. Labissiere and he works with the Salesians Sisters, who teach in Haiti and Msgr. Louis Merosne at the Catholic Church in Haiti.
THE WHAT:
To train a core group of high school seniors at a summer program in July on Emergency Management Preparedness. They will prepare for and how to respond to major types and phases of disasters. Preparedness, response, relief, recovery, mitigation, and pre-implementation of "sustainable" projects to prevent unwelcome issues. This initiative will enable the town’s youth to obtain the necessary knowledge and skills needed to immediately respond on the ground when an emergency occurs. With their commitment and continuing drill schedule, they will be the first line of defense to go into action to assist in evacuations, organizing volunteers, provide needed assistance to survivors, assessing damages or seeking proper help from other sources.
THE WHERE:
Anse-a-Veau is a remote bay community in Haiti. Located on the northern edge of the southern outstretch of land.  When the earthquake hit in 2010, the community was swollen by refugees from heavily afflicted areas. Some initial aid to the community was airdropped, but they did not receive significant help until six weeks after the quake hit.
THE WHY:
The area is prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes. The population is not equipped to address these emergencies and have to wait extended periods of time for outside assistance. Waiting weeks or months for help creates additional safety concerns, such as sanitation, health, clean water, and food. The basic needs for living are not consistent. We all need Air, Shelter, Water, Food and Support. For the people in this remote part of Haiti a strong shelter, clean water, plentiful food, and emergency support is scarce. Even air that is clean outside, is polluted when inside, because most of the community burns charcoal for cooking and for heat. Additional, toxic kerosine would be used at night for light. Compounding the lack of electricity and means to communicate (no cell phone towers or internet) over long distances, even a small emergency situation can become a deadly one.

THE HOW:
The curriculum I am writing up has been added to the four week syllabus. However the lessons need to be translated into the Creole language and Marie Fouche, a volunteer administrator for CORA, will be completing that major task next month. With the development of these classes, I will use my backgrounds as an Environmental Scientist, Naturalist and an Instructor of Team Building, Survival Classes, Communication Skills, along with certification for citizen preparedness and emergency services by United States Homeland security. Thus, the following three sections for the program are established:
  1. Communication and Team Building Skills
  2. Readiness, Emergency Preparedness and Survival Skills
  3. Solutions and Truth for a Sustainable and Resilient Tomorrow

Additionally, we will explore immediate solutions to current needs of everyday and survival modes Before, During and After an emergency. Several lessons will teach what some of my previous GoingTrueGreen.com blogs have covered: Educational data such as LED lights that run like Cuckoo clocks with gravity. No electricity needed! How to make a Bow Drill to make camp fires. How to make a Water Still for clean drinkable water. How to build a temporary shelter to stay warm and dry. Mixed in with these lessons will be field trips, hands-on work and collaborating with the surrounding communities.

THE NEED:
Perhaps you may wish to help with a small donation to this project.

Mr. Labissiere, president of CORA, is making arrangements with the Diocese of Nippes in Haiti to receive a shipping container filled with supplies not only for this program, but also for everyday needs. Msgr. Louis Merosne in Haiti will hopefully be able to work with Mr. Labissiere again and have the container clear customs and brought to Anse-a-Veau from Port-au-Prince.

Naimoly Freight in Ozone Park has been used in the past, but the costs have increased. CORA is looking to raise rental fees for the container, U-Haul truck rental, workers to load and unload the truck, container loading fee, and tips. The total for the New York end will be approximately 8 to 9 thousand dollars.

The cost at Haiti will be for Seaboard Marine of Haiti, Veconinter, Port Lafito, Broker Fee, Transport Port-Au-Prince to Anse-a-Veau, Unloading and tips. The total cost in Haiti will be approximately 4 thousand dollars.

To help out or make a donation, please visit CORA directly for contact data at:

In January at a Zoom conference, I met Amy Wu, who is an award-winning writer and founded of Farms to Incubators for women's Ag and AgTech.

Amy's mission is to give a voice to women in food, farming, and agriculture technology. Prior to her mission she was an investigative reporter for media outlets such as Time magazine and the Wall Street Journal. So with women creating new technologies for better yields and more efficient growing procedures, Amy wrote a book profiling 30 women. Their successes and challenges are presented along with the diversity of perspective that women bring to agriculture.

Amy's overall goal is to help connect women in AgTech and inspire the next generation by telling the stories of today's trailblazers and pioneers in the different sectors of Agriculture Technology. Sharing the tangible solutions that assist all farmers to be more successful with producing food for the world is always a plus for living a sustainable life.

    Bill Lauto, Environmentalist, Energy Consultant
Bill Lauto came on the scene in 1981 to present facts and teach details about how we can save our environment without making  sacrifices. He demonstrated how correctly implementing the technology we already obtained in 1981, allowed us to save Money, Energy and Earth. He voice was one among the few who taught green facts long before anyone else talked about sustainability.
       Bill Lauto's Credentials
By 1994 the Internet was being explored as a tool to provide energy saving information to all of America by Mr. Lauto. Having the foresight, he first launched the Light Bulb HotLine web site off of the company's Domain in 1996. Then in April of 2001, EnergyHotwire became a resource. Today,
GoingTrueGreen.com presents decades of info to dispel mis-information and provide the facts about truly Going True Green.
