As promised I am presenting another Going True Green Blog post about "giving" in celebration of America's Thanksgiving. The Pilgrims at Plymouth probably would not have survived if help was not provided by the Wampanoag tribe, brought about mainly by an English speaking Native American named Squanto. All great things are accomplished when Humankind comes together in peace to learn from one another and to find solutions. The "gift of giving" is very powerful, one current program is shared below:

The GivePower Foundation involves the solar company called SolarCity that donates a solar system to a school without electricity for every Megawatt of Residential Solar Power they installed. The donated solar systems will also include lights and batteries. The schools are in remote areas of Latin America, Africa, and Asia. In 2014, SolarCity and their partners installed over 500 systems. About 1.3 Billion people live in our world without any electricity.

The Bottom-Line is that society can not survive without education, so schools are first to receive clean and renewable energy from the GivePower Foundation. Programs like this and the GravityLight program that I posted on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2015 will give our world more educated people to work together so we can all save ourselves and our world.

Peace be with you,

GravityLight

GravityLight, deciwatt, kerosene, LED, going true green, going green, thanksgiving, electricity, energy, electrical power, solar, energyhotwireThe GravityLight
In America we are celebrating Thanksgiving today and when our Sun sets in the sky tonight we will all turn on our lights, without thought, to continue giving thanks with family and friends. Some may go shopping in stores for sales that start tonight and all these stores will have lights on as well to facilitate this marketing melee. As you may have surmised, I do not subscribe to this as a time to buy material possessions. One of the reasons...

As we turn on our lights this Thanksgiving night and every night in America, there are 1.3 Billion people without electricity in this world. That is one out of every five people living; most use kerosene lamps to light their way through the dark of night. Kerosene, a known carcinogen with an open flame burning a wick, can cause burns, cataracts, and cancer. Yet, for most this is the only source of light to do homework, read, cook, and to see where they are walking. Finally along comes Humankind's ingenuity!
GravityLight was designed by a company called Deciwatt for use in third-world and developing countries with the goal of making kerosene lamps obsolete. The LED light that comes on is powered by Earth's gravity just like the descending weights of a Cuckoo clock. All you need to do is pull a strap, fill the ballast bag with 20 pounds of rocks or earth and let gravity illuminate the LED bulb in an adjustable lamp. No real operating costs once you buy or are given a GravityLight kit. This is key to many families since the cost of kerosene can consume up to 30% of their yearly income! This is an amazing and logical invention, as the weight slowly falls to the ground, gears are turned that drives a small motor to produce at least 25 minutes of power for the light.

So now I ask you to review the following LINK and Watch the Video to see if you wish to contribute and help make these GravityLights more readily available to the remaining 1.3 Billion people in our world that don't have light like you and I. Flipping a light switch on is easy and so is using this LINK. Contributing to this project may become one of the best ways for us in America to say thank you, thank you for all that we have right at our fingertips. Happy Thanksgiving and peace be with you.

Thanksgiving 2.0

Thanksgiving, Turkey, Giving Thanks, Jesus, 2.0, Chickens, Healthiest Foods, leftovers, going green, sustainability, living sustainableGiving Thanks
Sitting down to share a meal with others on Thanksgiving in order to be thankful is the most important initiative. Let it be with family, friends, or even with those in need, so we can all share each others' company. Remember, happiness isn't necessarily about getting what we want, but rather, about wanting what we have.

The next few Going True Green blog posts over this Thanksgiving weekend, along with this post, will be sharing information and stories that give back and give thanks. I trust you will enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed blogging about them.

I start off in this post by wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving and by providing some helpful info toward living a more Earth and Health friendly life. I am calling this: Thanksgiving 2.0
"20 Healthiest Foods To Eat"
Many nutritionists and scientists are in agreement that the following list of foods are the healthiest. They are even better when grown organically. How many items below are found on your Thanksgiving table?

Apples
Almonds
Artichokes
Avocados
Bananas
Barley
Beans
Butternut & Spaghetti Squash

Dates
Dandelion Greens

Eggs
Garlic
Green Tea
Pomegranates
Red Lentils
Red Seedless Grapes
Salmon & Halibut
Seeds
Sweet Potatoes
Watercress

"Don't Poison Your Leftovers"
Don't put your Thanksgiving leftovers into plastic! Use Pyrex glass or porcelain. If you only have plastic containers, then put wax paper against the plastic or first wrap your food in wax paper. Also, never heat or freeze your food and drink in plastic. Only three (3) things DO NOT put carcinogens into our food or drink and they are shown below.  For more information on don't poison your leftovers, visit our web page at EnergyHotwire.

"Compost, Crops, & Chickens"
If you or someone you know has a yard or some property where you can grow an organic garden and have a compost, then do so to save money, earth, and health! There is an amazing and healthy enjoyment to tasting food that you grew yourself.

Here's a little known fact that you might find interesting: Many suburban Townships allow their constituents with property to own up to 6 chickens for your own fresh eggs each morning.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Twenty Year Website Anniversary

Hard to believe that our twenty year anniversary for being online with a website to provide sustainable information is almost upon us. Using the Internet since 1992, we didn't embark upon our first website work until 1995, which was before Google even started. By December 1996 the Light Bulb Hotline was up and running off of our main website, BBventures.com (BBV) and over time, the address and name changed to what we have today: EnergyHotwire.com (EHW) and our newer addition called: GoingTrueGreen.com (GTG).

B and B Ventures, BBV Publishing, ACU, EnergyHotwire, Lightbulb Hotline, Going True Green, Energy saving light bulbs, LEDs, Compact FluorescentsApril, 2001: EnergyHotwire.com
Our Going True Green website was created to provide sustainable information in newer formats such as Youtube videos, our award winning GTG Blog, Social Media and Online Classes. However, when necessary to provide more detailed information on a topic, we immediately link back to our EnergyHotwire.com site, which has been dubbed "the encyclopedia" by some. Today, we are working in all formats to educate everyone how to save money, energy, earth and health by living a more sustainable life. In addition, all is accomplished without sacrifice to your current life style. We know this fact to be true, because we have been in this field of work since 1982.

So we are celebrating by first saying, "thank you" to all our visitors, members, and followers over the past twenty years! Also throughout our anniversary year we will look into running contests and presenting new support apparel at our Going True Green GTG Gift Gallery and our Energy Hotwire store.

Nevertheless, our main goal for this 20th Anniversary is to completely redesign and layout a new Energy Hotwire website. All 182 web pages will be redone and all the additional pages that still need to be completed will also be achieved. Thus bringing our SAVE "Money, Energy, Earth, and Health" website up to and over 500 pages strong.

    Bill Lauto, Environmentalist, Energy Consultant
Bill Lauto came on the scene in 1981 to present facts and teach details about how we can save our environment without making  sacrifices. He demonstrated how correctly implementing the technology we already obtained in 1981, allowed us to save Money, Energy and Earth. He voice was one among the few who taught green facts long before anyone else talked about sustainability.
       Bill Lauto's Credentials
By 1994 the Internet was being explored as a tool to provide energy saving information to all of America by Mr. Lauto. Having the foresight, he first launched the Light Bulb HotLine web site off of the company's Domain in 1996. Then in April of 2001, EnergyHotwire became a resource. Today,
GoingTrueGreen.com presents decades of info to dispel mis-information and provide the facts about truly Going True Green.
