One More Resolution

Matthew Kelly, Epiphany, Three kings day, New year's resolution, going green, climate change, global warming, greenhouse effect, being holy, saints, going true green, one holy moment, sustainability, saving the world
Today is the Epiphany and by now many of us have already forsaken our New Year's Resolutions. So here am I talking about giving you a new one.

Several people take on a significant resolution each year and the more involved or complex that resolution is, the more we find ourselves failing to keeping that promise. Many people believe they just can't be "green" and being "True Green" that is impossible. Maybe I can be a mild shade of green, like lime green, but never a deep forest green because that is asking too much.

Let me put you at ease, nobody is asking anyone to go directly to a True Green lifestyle. After 30 years in my field, I am still not true green. I am working towards that goal to this day and I will achieve my mission soon enough. The bottom line is to know that I am not going true green over night. I am going one shade of green at a time.

I have been making small decisions that are attainable within my own budget of time and money, year after year. Small steps that have added up to significant differences not only for me, but for my planet's future.

In many of the books written by Matthew Kelly he talks about how we tell ourselves that holiness is not possible and how that is a lie. Telling ourselves that we can not go green or live a sustainable life by going true green is also a lie. Matthew Kelly continues to explain that we may believe that holiness is possible for our grandmother or some saint that lived one thousand years ago, but not for us. We can't make a resolution to have a holy life by tomorrow afternoon, but we can go out tomorrow and do one (1) holy moment. Not a holy hour or a holy day or a holy year or a holy life, just one holy moment. That is possible by just holding the door open at the Post Office for the next person behind you, going out of your way to support, help or pick up someone. Stopping by a soup kitchen to help unload a pickup truck filled with potatoes, sharing a smile with someone and doing whatever your heart tells you to do. After you take all the holy moments you did and weave them together, you will have a holy life.
The same is true with helping to save our environment for ourselves and our children's future. We don't know for sure what the outcome will be with Climate Change, but we do know that living a more sustainable life saves money, energy, water, and our environment as we live a healthier life without sacrifice. All this can be done one small step at a time... Going one shade of green at a time toward a more sustainable life.

For example, if you are like me, you probably received a few more coffee mugs as a gift this Christmas with your name or a relatable ID mark on the mugs. So instead of stuffing other mugs into your cupboard, bring two or three of them to work to avoid using disposable cups. Just one small resolution for this year that is possible and we will all be the better for that.

Our last Gallery is for Books.  All books will be from BBV Publishing who prints here in the United States. They ensure that their publishing process leaves little or no waste, saves trees and energy, while allowing the reader to still hold a book in their hands. Of course with their commitment to help the environment they also offer all of their books in a variety of digital formats. The first book that will be offered has yet to be titled and will be a critical, but constructive look at ourselves as Americans and the way we produce, sell, and consume energy.

The reason as to why we established these galleries is because we need each of you to help share information about our work done here at GoingTrueGreen.com and EnergyHotwire.com. We can't do this alone and yes, there will be a few dollars from each purchase you make that comes back to us as support. For that, all of us at Going True Green sincerely Thank You. Together we can make a difference!

EARTH DAY, 2014

Earth Day, earth, going green, going true green, energyhotwire, bill lauto, earth day 1990, save earthEarth
Twenty-four years ago, during the 20th anniversary of Earth Day in 1990, I was the Energy Advisor to the Earth Day Committee in New York City. I also was the attending expert witness to the press conferences of former New York’s Major Dinkins and Commissioner Mark Green. Five years later we were on the World Wide Web, which was the popular way everyone referred to being online.

Today, under BBV Publishing, we have EnergyHotwire.com since the 1990s and our new GoingTrueGreen.com website, blog, videos and social media celebrating a one year anniversary.

Since that very first Earth Day in 1970, America has made great strives in awareness. However, progress in solving our environment issues has varied from year to year. Saving energy to help our green planet has been mostly successful on the individual level. Americans waste* a great deal, but our energy consumption remained the same while America’s economy grew over 60% between 1982 and 1998.**

However, many in Corporate America have yet to display putting people and our environment first over profits. For this Earth Day, we have news from Apple who launched a new version of their website showing steps they take to be more environmentally responsible. Apple’s comments concluded with: “At Apple, we continue to put nature at the center of our business and design principles. We promise to keep you updated on our journey.”

This is what we need more of... Everyone working together and on the same team! There is always another way to do something. Ways for us to protect God’s green earth and to do so without making sacrifices. This has been my passion since I first saw and had a lasting impression made on me by a television commercial*** when young. I will never forget the tear coming down the face of the actor who represented Native Americans after viewing the ways people littered upon the water and land from his canoe.

Communication is the Tool,

Knowledge is the Power,

Implementation is the Victory.

I find no better satisfaction than working together on developing a better way and then speaking about the work to bring a simple, yet powerful message to everyone. Just like the message spoken so clearly by one teardrop in a commercial so many years ago.

We Have Been Misinformed

2/26/2014

media, misinformation, reporters, news, documentaries, Nat Geo, History Channel, Discovery Channel, sensationalism, shroud, shroud of turin, turinMedia Sensationalism = Dunce
Far too many times I see or read information in the media about saving energy that is grossly incorrect or pitifully insufficient. On Monday evening I learned just how wide spread misinformation can be.

As some of you know, the Going True Green blog that I write is supported by my small Eco-friendly publishing business.
(More info on BBV Publishing is at the bottom of this Blog posting)
So on Monday evening, because of my publishing business, I had the honor to introduce Mr. Barrie Schwortz for a presentation that BBV Publishing arranged at Saint John's University in New York. He is the official photographer who went with the U.S. science team to study the cloth known as the Shroud of Turin.

Barrie Schwortz, Shroud of Turin, Bill Lauto, St. John's University, Upper Room The Way, Jesus, Jesus the Christ, Christ, talks on the shroudBill Lauto and Barrie Schwortz
I became friends with Mr. Barrie Schwortz in early 2012, when Mr. Schwortz was kind enough to assist with confirming facts about the shroud. This friendship developed when I was editing a historical novel recently published by our new Eco-friendly Press BBV Publishing. The novel is called: Upper Room, The Way: 33AD to 57AD by L. J. Williams and the Shroud of Turin is the theme. All proceeds from the sales of this novel go to charitable causes and BBV Publishing has the novel available in print and digital formats.

Upper Room was published as a vehicle to expand knowledge of the Shroud for the public through historical fiction that has been carefully researched. After hearing Barrie Schwortz's presentation we are proud that we did. Mr. Schwortz gave an amazing presentation and stated that we need to stop watching mainstream media along with cable documentaries. Allow me to paraphrase what he said: 'Most documentaries about the Shroud of Turin are 50% wrong, I know, because I have been in most of them. And if they try really hard, they get it 70% wrong. They do not report the boring facts, because they are an entertainment industry with the goal of making money.'

Photograph below is copyright © 1978 by Barrie M. Schwortz collection, STERA Inc.
Jesus, Jesus the Christ, shroud, shroud of turin, Barrie Schwortz, carbon dating test, carbon dating, upper room, upper room the way, L. J. williams, face of God, Son of GodJesus the Christ
Mr Schwortz then continued with his scientific presentation. He exposed all the misinformation including the Carbon Dating test that was done on only one piece of cloth made up of a different composition from the rest of the shroud and contained dyed cotton. This tested material had been proven to be woven onto the shroud in the 1300's. So it was not the Carbon Dating test that was incorrect, but rather the piece that was used for the test. Then after systematically providing facts, some of which have never been reported by the media, there is no doubt that Shroud of Turin is 2,000 years old and covered only one man known as Jesus the Christ. Still to this day, the scientific community can not explain how the image on the shroud was created and not one person has come close to reproducing the image with all the unique qualities it holds.

So please check and double check your information as we do here at GoingTrueGreen.com, because misinformation also applies to saving energy and our environment. I will continue to work hard and provide only the facts. I don't want to entertain you, with God's help I want us to decipher facts together as one team for humankind.

More on BBV Publishing:

BBV Publishing, digital books, amazon kindle, kindle, e readers, BBVBBV Publishing's Home Page
Websites and blogs are published material and with the new age of digital publishing, creating BBV Publishing became a logical step. In addition, BBV Publishing hopes to tell the untold stories by publishing books that are thought provoking, virtuous, inspiring, and educational, while entertaining! Our authors are committed to inspire positive change in our world and in humanity through stories that are often rejected by large Publishing Houses whose main objective is only to obtain the highest possible profit with sensationalized tales. For BBV Publishing, accessibility of quality reading comes before profits.

Our mission to accomplish this is achieved by printing here in the United States as we keep in line with what we sell. This ensures that our process leaves no waste, saves trees and energy while allowing the reader to still hold a book in their hands. Of course with our commitment to help the environment we also offer all of our books in a variety of digital formats. In fact, we were one of the first to start working with Amazon's Kindle because we realized the paradigm was shifting in the book publishing industry. So please stop by BBVpublishing.com for a visit some time.

Going True Green Blog: Welcome

Welcome and thank you for reading the Going True Green Blog and watching G T G's Videos. The goal of this Blog is to provide information or some insight for individuals, families and businesses on achieving the deepest green color possible by becoming educated and committed within their own budget of time and money.

Yes, we can all "Go Green" to various shades, but "Going Green" is not accomplished by just making a few purchases. Becoming Green means you are taking several actions to help our planet, our environment and future generations. The task is only completed when you become "True Green" - not just a pale shade of green.
Going Green, Going True Green, Earth from space, save our planet, Bill Lauto
I look forward to providing the most helpful information possible on various topics and to reading any comment or question so that we can approach this endeavor as a team, as one country. Only then can we say that we didn't squander our children's tomorrow on this planet we call Earth. Thank you.

Bill Lauto came on the scene in 1981 to present facts and teach details about how we can save our environment without making  sacrifices. He demonstrated how correctly implementing the technology we already obtained in 1981, allowed us to save Money, Energy and Earth. He voice was one among the few who taught green facts long before anyone else talked about sustainability.

By 1994 the Internet was being explored as a tool to provide energy saving information to all of America by Mr. Lauto. Having the foresight, he first launched the Light Bulb HotLine web site off of the company's Domain in 1996. Then in April of 2001, EnergyHotwire became a resource. Today,
GoingTrueGreen.com presents decades of info to dispel mis-information and provide the facts about truly Going True Green.
