Stars, Earth, and the Force

Earth, world, space, star wars, going green, going true green, environment, climate change, green house effect, global warming, God, saving the worldEarth
This morning I saw Star Wars, The Force Awakens. I saw this movie in the same theater that I saw the very first one so many years ago...

Of course the theater has been rebuilt, remodeled, and upgraded, over the years. Nevertheless, many things still remain the same, just like the message from Star Wars: There will always be good and evil in our world, you just have to evaluate ALL the FACTS to know that you are standing on the right side. When you evaluate all the facts, there is only one side that removes all doubt and that is the light of the world. While George Lucas demonstrates there are two sides of the Force, in our world we know the two sides as good and evil.

Many times we have difficulty seeing the good in our world, especially when the world's media companies just focus on the bad news in hopes for higher ratings. Yet, God has shown us the power of the good side. For those who need evidence, look no further than what Jesus teaches us and the proof He left us. Look upon all the real scientific facts given to us with an unpretentious mind from the Shroud of Turin and the Sudarium head cloth.

Your research and evaluation shall be a long process when done correctly, yet when concluded, you will not just hope, believe, or have faith. You will KNOW and yes, the good side of the force will be very strong within you.

As for how any of this has anything to do with Going True Green, the reason is because everything is connected. This is the solution for our planet's limitations, dangers, and any of the many potential climate change problems confronting us tomorrow. We have three (3) fronts against climate change: Political, Corporate, and Individual.

The Individual Front, you and me, is the KEY. As an individual, we all must lead the corporations and political engines to the solution. By being connected, evaluating all the facts and recognizing the risks we create by failing as an individual...
Individuals can change inefficient light bulbs in their house to compact fluorescents or LEDs.
Individuals realize we now eat far more red meat and the results are not helping our health or our environment.
Individuals can have a compost in their backyard or in their building's courtyard.
Individuals must evaluate what they are buying and why. Is the product a "bill of goods" that we don't need?

The list goes on and on, but more importantly is how the list converts...
Individuals are contractors doing work wrong, cutting corners, or help clients save money.
Individuals operate corporations.
Individuals hold public office.
Individuals are politicians!

Once the heart and mind of an individual is corrupted, for whatever reason, and they did not take the time to learn all the facts, to talk to all the people, to work with everyone, then there is never a team effort or real shared concern. Thus, there will never be any solutions.

You and me, each individual in this world is the solution. That is my message, that is my goal with the work of GoingTrueGreen.com and EnergyHotwire.com. Together, first as an individual, then as a team, we will help save our world. For those who literally turn to the dark side, we must come together as one to stop them. For if they ever use nuclear weapons, then we will have no world to save.

This Christmas, start with the research, get all the facts on one topic at a time, then evaluate as an unpretentious scientist. As an individual I am living a more sustainable life by being more connected to God, people, and our environment. I have been successful saving money, energy, and our environment, while living healthier. Don't just hope we can help save the world, know that you can. For the same power and force that rose Jesus from the grave is within us. Peace be with you and have a blessed Christmas.

The Holiday Light Switch

Not the light switch... Switch lights! Don't wait another year to change your Holiday lights to all LED bulbs!

One of my largest clients as an Energy Consultant was MACY*S Department Stores. Around 1990, I introduced LED conversion kits for EXIT Sign Boxes to Macy*s Operation Managers and the conversion began almost instantly. Those same reasons for Macy*s to switch to LEDs stand true for decorative Christmas lights today.

Number One reason is savings and a fast payback. Today the cost for LED Christmas lights has come down and the price is even a better deal when placed on sale at the end of the season.
A house decorated outside and with a tree inside will use a minimum of 400 bulbs. That will be about 160 watts with the incandescent mini lights. If you have a timer running the lights from Dusk to Dawn between Thanksgiving and January 7th, your electric bill with a 19 cent Kilowatt rate will be around: $15.32.

If you use LEDs consuming about 4.8 watts per 70 bulbs (total LED bulbs used 420) you will consume a total of 28.8 watts for a total electric cost of only $2.77! A savings off the electric bill of around $12.55. So no matter how many bulbs you are using, the savings is around 82% when comparing LEDs to Incandescent bulbs. Also buying the LEDs on sale can offer you a payback on your investment in one holiday season.

Another reason to get LEDs is for all those times where the last row of lights are up, you come down the ladder and plug in the lights to only see half or none of them light up. Then that conversation starts:
"Did you test the bulbs?"
"Nooo, I thought you tested the bulbs!"
"Are these the lights where if one goes out they all go out?"
"I don't know, didn't you buy them?"
"That was three years ago! I don't remember."
"Just buy those new LED lights, they last decades, not years."

So put the "JOLLY" back into the holidays and keep most of your money in your pocket by using LED decorative lights. Your electric power company will still send you a bill, but in this case, less is much better than more. Merry Christmas.

The Future of Energy

Bill Lauto, St. John's University, Dr. Monteiro, Energy, sustainability, going green, future of Energy, William Lauto, Energy consultant, Symposium at St. John's University, Environmental issues, climate change, Division of Mass Communication
Energy's future is a topic that incorporates several things such as, nature, science, business, economics, economies, history, wildlife, and the morals of humankind. I was invited to speak December 3rd on this very subject by St. John's University's Dr. Monteiro. This graduate symposium is hosted by the Division of Mass Communication. I am honored to received this invitation and to be the guest speaker at this event titled: The Future of Energy and Sustainable Living.

Thinking of all the speaking engagements I have done over the past thirty years I am most eager to present at this symposium because of the topic to be discussed. Despite being a broad topic, the very essence of the title allows us to focus on our own future and what world we will leave for our children's children. Energy's future is upon us now, when and how the different forms of energy are implemented is completely up to humankind. Living a more sustainable life also comes down to our own choices and our ability to overcome enemies such as greed, fear, and our attitudes. Attitudes that reveal Business’ missions to increase the profit margin at any cost; misguided goals; misinformed conclusions; lack of morals and virtue; self righteous assessments that place a higher value on one self over other humans, animals, and nature; spurning the fact about everyone and everything is connected; ignoring long term consequences “So Not” to spend more money on a better way or solution; knowing there will be no consequences in their lifetime for how they do things and not caring about what our own grandchildren will face. Thus in one word: anthropocentrism.

When we come together as one team, that is the day we shall see our energy future leading toward sustainable living.

    Bill Lauto, Environmentalist, Energy Consultant
Bill Lauto came on the scene in 1981 to present facts and teach details about how we can save our environment without making  sacrifices. He demonstrated how correctly implementing the technology we already obtained in 1981, allowed us to save Money, Energy and Earth. He voice was one among the few who taught green facts long before anyone else talked about sustainability.
       Bill Lauto's Credentials
By 1994 the Internet was being explored as a tool to provide energy saving information to all of America by Mr. Lauto. Having the foresight, he first launched the Light Bulb HotLine web site off of the company's Domain in 1996. Then in April of 2001, EnergyHotwire became a resource. Today,
GoingTrueGreen.com presents decades of info to dispel mis-information and provide the facts about truly Going True Green.
