New SL*18 Watt Bulb The Philips SL*18 watt light bulb will fit into most incandescent lighting fixtures, but please note that they do not work well on dimmer switches. A dimmer will cut into the 10,000 hour life of the SL*18 bulb.
The electronic ballast (aka: transformer) is heat resistant to 140 degrees and contributes to better lumen aka: light level output) maintenance. The SL*18 can also be used outside when enclosed inside a fixture. The SL*18 bulb will come on as long as temperatures remain above 0 degrees F.
