As far as what the future holds, I learned about Lighting Emitting Diodes (LEDs), but they are years away from coming close to the light output of a SOX or compact fluorescent bulb. We have to look at the money, energy and oil we will save now and over the next twenty years or so before a new light source can replace the best lighting systems we install today.
